Youth Led Initiative
HNDS & FT Ministries envisions a thriving community garden designed to nourish both body and spirit. “Feeding Unicoi County Children” is a youth-led initiative that was born in 2021 from the vision of two children who recognized a growing need in their community following the COVID-19 pandemic. Moved by what they saw, they dreamed of creating a way to help ensure other children would not go without.
This initiative will provide fresh, healthy produce to families in need throughout the summer months when free school lunches are no longer available. While providing health options, this will also create opportunities for children and volunteers to learn, grow, and connect. It will teach sustainable gardening, encourage community involvement, and empower young leaders to be part of the solution. Through shared work and shared harvests, we are not only meeting a physical need—we are cultivating compassion, purpose, and hope for the next generation.

MENTORSHIP PROGRAM: YOUTH AGING OUT OF FOSTER CARE
Mentorship
As youth transition out of foster care, many face adulthood without the support systems they need to sudceed. HNDS & FT Ministries is committed to walk alongside these young adults through a mentorship program focused on guidance, life skills and meaningful connection. This initiative will pair participants with caring mentors who provide encouragement, accountability and practical support such as budgeting, career planning and independent living skills. Our goal is to empower these individuals to build stable, confident and purpose-filled futures.
Do you have mentorship skills?
We would love to partner with organizations offering life skills training for young adults aging out of foster care who are at high risk of life long instability. If you have an organization or skillset to host a group, hold a class or mentor one-on-one, you are needed!
